Graco installs 1.4-MW Solar array at new Office, Factory facility in Minnesota
Industrial fluid management products firm Graco has added a solar array to its new 538,000 square-foot building on the Patrick J. McHale campus in Dayton, Minnesota.
Graco has worked with Impact Power Solutions (IPS) to install the 1.4-MW solar array at the building. The renewable energy array comprises more than 3,100 solar panels, installed on the roof of the building. The installation is expected to offset more than 23,000 tons of CO2 over the next 3 decades.
Additionally, IPS partnered with American Forests to plant one tree for each KW of solar installed, resulting in the plantation of a total of 1,400 trees.
"Graco will continue to invest in the communities and environments we live in," said Angie Wordell, Executive Vice President of Operations. "With this new campus, Graco will replace some of our traditional energy consumption methods with solar energy. We've chosen to invest in more sustainable energy because it's the right thing to do for the environment, our communities, customers, employees and the business."
The new facility is Graco’s fourth Minnesota campus as the company continues to grow. Graco partnered with general contractor, McGough, architectural services firm, HGA, and project manager, Tegra Group, to complete building construction.
