The two Class 8 trucks were manufactured by Nikola Corp. The vehicles are being deployed and fueled by Nikola’s HYLA modular hydrogen refueling station at Diageo’s campus in Plainfield, Illinois.
The buses will not only replace SamTrans' diesel buses but also help the provider achieve 100 percent zero-emission by 2040 and meet the U.S. GHG targets of 50-52 percent by 2030.
The truck will transport Purina products, including Tidy Cats cat litter, between three California cities- Stockton, Maricopa and Modesto to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
