Panda Express Partners with GridPoint to Decarbonize All US Restaurant Locations
GridPoint, a cleantech company focused on decarbonizing commercial buildings, has expanded its partnership with Panda Express by deploying smart building technology across all the restaurant’s US locations.
Panda Express will deploy GridPoint Intelligence throughout all US locations – nearly 2,500 sites – during the next 18 months to optimize energy consumption, reduce energy costs, and ensure all locations remain at an optimal and comfortable temperature for guests and associates throughout varying climate conditions year-round.
Panda Express’ nationwide deployment of GridPoint’s smart building technology follows the successful completion of a 200-store pilot program, which generated measurable energy savings costs and reduced carbon dioxide emissions.
“We have sought solutions that can deliver data-driven insights, automated energy efficiency, and immediate savings by monitoring and controlling energy consumption within our facilities in real-time, and [we] are excited to partner with GridPoint to roll out their management system across our store portfolio,” said James Ku, Chief Development Offer at Panda Restaurant Group.
GridPoint Intelligence works to optimize energy usage by automating critical building functions and actively managing energy operations at each location, particularly during peak periods that impact the comfort of guests and employees.
More specifically, this technology will control all in-store HVAC and lighting systems and leverage data analytics to provide facility managers with real-time insights into operational and environmental performance, resulting in reportable emissions offset.
“Maximizing energy efficiency and decarbonization in complex commercial buildings requires a technology-driven approach,” said Mark Danzenbaker, GridPoint CEO. “We are especially proud to partner with Panda in addressing global energy goals on building, guest, and associate at a time.”
