Real estate services, investment and management firm CBRE will deploy more than 3,600 electric vehicle (EV) chargers across 600 sites through its agreement with charging solutions provider EVPassport.
The rollout will include CBRE-connected multifamily and hospitality properties throughout North America. The partnership will assist property owners and operators to provide charging to residents and tenants.
According to CBRE’s 2024 Occupier Sentiment Survey, 54 percent of respondents have named EV charging as a priority in building selection decisions. EVPassport's infrastructure engagement platform will strive to improve CBRE's existing portfolio of EV charging solutions, and help meet the demand from property managers, owners and occupiers across the nation.

“EVPassport has a strong reputation for its advanced technology and long-term reliability and is fully supported by its institutional capital partner,” said Mark Kerstens, Global Head of EV Charging Solutions at CBRE.
EVPassport utilizes a business model allowing customers to select a method of deploying their EV charging infrastructure, either an infrastructure-as-a-service model or a traditional capital expense and support partnership.
Last year, CBRE contracted with charging-as-a-service solutions firm Invisible Urban Charging (IUC) to support a nationwide rollout of one million EV charging stations over the next five years.
Under that agreement, CBRE was providing site selection, project management, installation, and ongoing maintenance services for the EV chargers, while IUC will be responsible for providing the funding and the charging hardware/software, as well as managing operations through its charging-as-a-service platform.
