Kalmar, part of the Cargotec umbrella, received an order from Wallenius Wilhelmsen, a Norwegian logistics service provider, to supply four heavy electric forklift trucks, two electric reach stackers, and three heavy terminal tractors for the company’s US logistics network.

“This order is another clear demonstration of the rapidly rising demand for robust, fully electric equipment that is capable of moving heavy loads and represents the first sales of our electric reach stacker and heavy electric forklift to a customer in the USA,” said Svante Alveronn, Vice President of Global Service Solutions at Kalmar.

This order represents a marked advancement towards Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s goal of reducing its onshore logistics emissions by establishing clean fleets where practicable across its service areas, which include more than 66 services and processing centers, eight terminals, and 11 inland distribution networks across six continents.

“Our two companies have benefited from a partnership that stretches back more than three decades. This new agreement to renew our cargo-handling equipment with fully electric and more eco-efficient machines is an important step in supporting our clean fleet initiative in the US,” said Ove Moring, Head of Supplier and Contract Management at Wallenius Wilhelmsen.
