    New York City and U.S. Homeland Security order Beam EV ARC Solar-powered EV charging systems

    Earlier this week, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has placed an order of 32 Beam EV ARC sustainable off-grid charging systems and 3 ARC Mobility trailers for deployment across 8 locations

    Beam Global has received an order for another 71 Beam EV ARC solar-powered EV charging systems from New York City.

    The $5.3 million order is the vity’s seventh order and expands its fleet of sustainable EV ARC EV charging systems to 160. The charging systems are flood-proof to 9.5 ft, wind-rated to 125 mph and come with an emergency power panel to work as emergency preparedness equipment for fleet operators and first responders during grid failures and extreme weather events.

    “New York City is our largest municipal customer and they continue to lead in sustainable and resilient EV charging infrastructure for their growing fleet of zero-emissions vehicles. Their EV ARC systems are rapidly deployed without digging up city streets and parking areas, without expensive upgrades to city electrical circuitry, and without concern for high utility costs, saving on City budgets,” said Beam Global CEO Desmond Wheatley. “Resiliency is very important to New York City and the EV ARC™ system’s ability to provide EV charging during grid outages and emergency power when needed by first responders is another great benefit for the city and their tax payers. Two birds with one stone.”

    Earlier this week, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has placed an order of 32 Beam EV ARC sustainable off-grid charging systems and 3 ARC Mobility trailers for deployment across 8 locations for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Customs Border Patrol (CBP) and Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC).

    The DHS charging systems will be installed in Georgia, Maryland, New Mexico, South Carolina, and 4 locations in Puerto Rico.
