Enlight Wins Right to Build Integrated Data Center, Renewable Energy Project in Southern Israel
A small, but renewable energy rich settlement in southern Israel will be home to a future $1.1 billion integrated data center project.
The Israel Land Authority (ILA) has awarded a tender to developer Enlight Renewable Energy for 50-acre site in Ashalim. Data center development in Israel typically has been located in the central region of the country where available land is becoming scarce and energy capacity stretched.
Ashalim, which is Israel's renewable energy hub with existing high-voltage transmission and communication networks, offers a potential solution for large-scale data centers. The settlement already is home to a concentrated solar power station totaling more than 270 MW in capacity.

Israeli-based Enlight Renewable Energy also will develop a new solar project adjacent to the integrated data center in Ashalim. The integrated data, generation, and storage complex will feature a 100 MW hourly consumption capacity.
Enlight also is developing U.S. projects including the Country Acres solar and battery storage site near Sacramento, California. The company announced it had secured $773 million in debt financing for construction of the Country Acres complex.
